March 2018 Monthly Meeting

A real treat for us this month as we are going to be entertained by Dr. Alex Tattersall

We really look forward to welcoming him “Up North” this coming March for his talk entitled “Confessions of an ex (critter) fiddler”.

This talk will consider the ethics of underwater photography and ways in which we can avoid destructive interactions with our underwater subjects and marine environment.

Alex began diving in the early 1990s in Venezuela and Australia becoming instantly addicted to the wonders of the marine environment. Alex picked up his first camera in Taiwan in 1999 and has since gone on to win numerous underwater photography awards including the coveted ‘Best of Show’ in the British Society of Underwater Photographers print competition. He is a very active and award winning underwater photographer and the founder of Underwater Visions.

In his spare time he also runs various underwater photography workshops around the world as well as lecturing on various aspects of underwater photography.
